The Ferlinghetti Day Parade will honor poet, publisher, painter, and activist Lawrence Ferlinghetti on his birthday!
It begins at Noon at Club Fugazi (678 Green Street, between Stockton and Powell Streets) where folks will gather for a short program featuring a number of speakers, hosted by Mauro Aprile Zanetti.
A parade will immediately follow led by the Green Street Mortuary Band. The route will go along Green Street and down Columbus Avenue to City Lights Bookstore, and end at Caffe Trieste located at 601 Vallejo Street between Columbus Avenue and Grant Street. There, the public is invited to gather for readings and an open-mic.
