Join master wordsmith Oscar Peñaranda and his friends for an evening of storytelling and literary pyrotechnics.

This intimate reading with Oscar Peñaranda features his newest book, Follower of the Seasons, a selection of work from his five-suite multi-genre manuscript. He will move through passages that take us through decades and places he calls home, such as our beloved San Francisco, Bristol Bay, Alaska, Vancouver, Canada and, Leyte and Manila, Philippines. He will also discuss his literary influences, research process as a life-long educator, and his commitment to Philippine and Filipino-American literature. Q/A to follow.

Oscar Peñaranda is a Filipino educator, poet, short story writer, activist and former Cannery worker in South Naknek, Alaska. He is a founding member of the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) and has taught ethnic studies at San Francisco State University.
